- Stroll over for your cake and check out what's up with the hip boutiques on U St. Below are links to our close neighbors on the 1500 U Street block: Boundless Yoga, Junction, JoJo, Meeps, Mid-City Business District, Millenium, Moojoo ken, Nana, U Street Cleaners, Top Notch Tattoo, and Zawadi.
- Take Metro’s Green Line to the "U Street/Cardozzo/African American Civil War Memorial" stop.
- Take the "13th Street" exit off the platform which puts you at the intersection of 13th and U St.
- Walk 2 blocks West on U St. CakeLove and Love Café are located on the far corner of 15th and U St. CakeLove is located at 1506 U St.; Love Café is located at 1501 U St.
- Take the 90 bus, which stops right in front of CakeLove at the corner of 15th & U St.
- The S1, S2, and S4 buses stop at 16th & U St., NW, just one block west of CakeLove and Love Café.
- Metered parking is available on U St. and zone parking is available on 15th St. On weekday mornings and afternoons, parking is fairly easy to find. Nights and weekends can be a little more difficult.
- Public parking: Write into the Mayor’s office to demand more parking on U St. Read what we have to say.
- Drive up and double park. We’re not advising that you break the law, but a lot of people double park when picking up their advance orders.
Driving Directions from Virginia on I-395 (including National Airport)
- Take I-395 northbound into Washington, DC. The bridge you cross puts you onto 14th St.
- Continue straight (North) on 14th approximately 1.5 miles to U St. As you drive straight on 14th St. you will pass the Washington monument, downtown buildings, Thomas Circle, and a residential/commercial district.
- Go Left on U St. (West) and continue one block to the light at 15th St.
- CakeLove and Love Café are just past the light on either side of the street. CakeLove is located on the left at 1506 U St., NW; Love Café is located on the right at 1501 U St., NW.
Driving Directions from Virginia I-66 (including Dulles Airport)
- Cross the Teddy Roosevelt bridge and exit onto Constitution Ave.
- Continue straight on Constitution Ave until you reach 15th St.
- Go left onto 15th St. and continue straight to I ("Eye") St., NW.
- Go left onto I St.
- Take a right at the next light which will again be 15th St.
- Continue straight on 15th for approximately 1 mile to U St. You have arrived at our corner.
- Go Left on U St. CakeLove is located at 1506 U St.; Love Café is located at 1501 U St.
Driving Directions from Maryland (Silver Spring, Bethesda)
- Take 16th St. southbound into Washington, DC to U St. NW.
- Go left at the light onto U St. Drive 1 block until the next light. You have arrived on our corner.
- CakeLove is located on the right at 1506 U St.; Love Café is located on the left at 1501 U St.
Driving Directions from Maryland (BW Parkway/Route 50)
- Enter the city on Route 50 and continue until Florida Ave.
- Go right onto Florida Ave. and continue straight for 1.5 miles. (Note: You will cross into Northwest, DC at the 3rd light after turning onto Florida).
- Florida becomes U St. at 7th St. NW. Continue straight on U St., until you reach 15th St. You have arrived at our corner.
- CakeLove is located on the left at 1506 U St.; Love Café is located on the right at 1501 U St.
CakeLove in Silver Spring, MD
- Stroll over for your cake and check out what’s up in revitalized Downtown Silver Spring! On weekends Ellsworth Drive is closed between Fenton Street and Georgia Avenue. Enjoy the children’s fountain in warm weather and stroll the promenade while you shop and eat.
- Take Metro’s Red Line to the Silver Spring stop.
- The Silver Spring Metro stop is a major bus depot for WMATA (http://www.wmata.com/). Please visit their website for specific bus schedules and routing information. Popular lines from DC are the S2 and S4, which run from Federal Triangle to Silver Spring via 16th Street.
- Metered parking is available immediately outside of CakeLove Silver Spring and garage parking is available in the Wayne Avenue Garage (Entrance on Wayne Ave. between Georgia Avenue and Fenton Street). Garage parking is hourly, however it is free if leaving after 8 pm on weekdays. Parking is free on the weekends
Directions to CakeLove in Shirlington, VA
CakeLove is located at the Village at Shirlington, just off I-395 (Shirley Highway) at the Glebe Road/Shirlington exit in Arlington, Virginia, three miles south of Washington, D.C.

Stroll over for your cake and check out what’s up in the new side of Shirlington. Enjoy the fountain and stroll the promenade while you shop and eat. We are next door to the new Signature Theater, a new branch of the Arlington County Library, and a brand new Harris Teeter grocery store. From the Ballston Metro Station (Orange line) you may take bus 22A.
The Pentagon Metro stop is a major bus depot for WMATA. Take the Metro’s Blue or Yellow line trains to the Pentagon Station. Transfer to any of the following buses for access to Shirlington: 7A, 7C, 7E, 7F (all from the Pentagon), 10B, 22A, 23A, 23C, and 25A and 25J.
Regardless of the bus, the Shirlington bound buses stop on South Quincy St. near the intersection with Campbell Ave. Walk (xx blocks) to CakeLove at 4150 Campbell Ave.
The closest Metro stop to Cake Love in Shirlington is the Blue line train at Pentagon City. From there a taxi can easily be taken from the taxi stand in front of the Ritz Carlton Hotel. The fare is approximately $7.

Free parking is available on the second level and higher in the free public garage adjacent to the Signature Theatre.
Driving Directions from Washington, DC, or Maryland (via I-395)
- Take I-395 South
- Take Exit 7 – "Glebe Road/Shirlington"
- It’s a long exit with two off ramps, the first will be Glebe Road, the second for Shirlington. Remain in the right lane, but do not take the first exit ramp—that’s the one for Glebe Road. Continue straight following the sign marked for "Shirlington."
- After passing below an overpass, bear to the right to exit into Shirlington.
- Proceed straight through the light at the end of the ramp and you will be on Arlington Mill Drive.
- Proceed to the 3rd intersection and make a left onto Campbell Ave.
- CakeLove is one block dead ahead. Park in front (not legal) or enter the garage on your right as you proceed toward the bakery.
Driving Directions from Points South in Virginia (via I-395)
- Take I-395 North
- Take Exit 6 - Shirlington/Quaker Lane.
- Bear left over highway, move immediately into right lane, and turn left at the first traffic light on to Arlington Mill Dr.
- Proceed to the 3rd intersection and make a left onto Campbell Ave.
- CakeLove is one block dead ahead. Park in front (not legal) or enter the garage on your right as you proceed toward the bakery
CakeLove at Tysons Corner, VA
Driving Directions to Tysons I
(and the entrance closest to CakeLove!)
- I-495 Outerloop and Inner-loop
- Exit 47A Route 7/ Leesburg
- Veer right off of Route 7 at the marquee for Tsyons Corner Centre onto Fashion Drive.
- Go straight through the first stop sign.
- Turn left at next the stop sign.
- Go straight through the next stop sign.
- Enter the parking garage immediately on the right.
- 15 minute pick-up spaces are available on the ground level.
- The entrance is on your left beside the McDonald’s golden arches.
CakeLove at National Harbor, MD
From DC:
- Take I-295 south for 5.5 miles
- Take exit 1B towards National Harbor
- Once at National Harbor, turn right at Waterfront Street. then right on to National Plaza
From Maryland:
- I-295 South towards Washington D.C.
- Take exit 1B towards National Harbor
- Once at National Harbor, turn right on Waterfront Steet then a right on to National Plaza
From Virginia:
- I-495 East / I-95 North towards Baltimore
- Cross the Woodrow Wilson bridge into Maryland then take exit 2A towards National Harbor
- Once at National Harbor, turn right onto Waterfront Street then right on to National Plaza

Alternative Route to Fair Oaks Mall
If you are coming from 66 and take the 57B exit, stay straight (passing the bridge on the right) and take the 2nd West Ox exit on right. At the second traffic light Monument Drive take left. At first traffic light Fair Lakes Parkway take another left and you will arrive at Fair Oaks near Sears.
CakeLove at Arundel Mills in Hanover, MD
Arundel Mills is located at the intersection of the Baltimore Washington Parkway (Route 295) and Route 100. The Center is 10 miles south of Baltimore and 20 miles north of Washington, D.C. and just 2 miles west of the Baltimore-Washington International Airport.
Directions from Baltimore: Route 295 (Baltimore Washington Parkway) South to Arundel Mills Boulevard or Interstate 95 South to Exit 43A (Route 100 East) to Arundel Mills Boulevard. The Center is on the right.
Directions from Annapolis: Interstate 97 North to Route 100 West, to Exit 10A (Arundel Mills Boulevard.). Left at the light, the Center is on the right.
Directions from Washington: Route 295 (Baltimore Washington Parkway) North to Arundel Mills Boulevard or Interstate 95 North to Exit 43A (Route 100 East) to Exit 10(Arundel Mills Boulevard). The Center is on the right.
